VRF or split units: which suits your office?
Both can cool and heat. The right choice depends on the number of rooms, their use and the building.
Split and multi-split
A split unit pairs one indoor unit with one outdoor unit; multi-split connects a few indoor units to one outdoor unit. Suitable for smaller offices or individual rooms.
VRF systems
A VRF system serves many indoor units with variable refrigerant flow, often with central controls. Some versions can cool and heat different zones at once. It requires careful design, documentation and periodic maintenance.
Weighing it up
Consider zones, future layout, space for outdoor units, refrigerant charge and maintenance. Have an installer assess the site.
