Fault with your air conditioning or heat pump: what to do
A fault is never convenient. A few simple steps help you and the engineer.
Check first
Check the power supply, remote or controls and whether filters are visibly dirty. Note any error code on the display.
What to avoid
Do not open the unit or work on pipes or refrigerant; that work is reserved for certified engineers. Switch the unit off if you see ice, leaking water or smell burning.
Reporting
Report the fault with the error code, make and model and a photo of the rating plate. Maintenance contracts include agreed response times.
