F-gases: what rules apply to your system?
EU Regulation 2024/573 sets requirements for equipment containing fluorinated refrigerants.
Leak checks
The applicable threshold depends on the refrigerant’s CO₂ equivalent. In general, checks are annual from 5 tonnes, every six months from 50 tonnes and quarterly from 500 tonnes. A suitable leak detection system can halve the frequency. Exceptions and additional conditions may apply.
Record keeping
Keep records of the type and quantity of refrigerant, maintenance, checks and recovered gas. The precise obligations depend on your equipment and current regulations.
