Mandatory leak checks: how often and why?
Leak checks limit refrigerant loss and help assess the condition of your system.
Calculate CO₂ equivalent
Multiply the refrigerant charge in kilograms by its GWP and divide by 1,000 to obtain tonnes of CO₂ equivalent. R410A has a GWP of 2088; R32 has a GWP of 675. Check the equipment label or service records for the actual charge.
Check intervals
Frequency depends on the refrigerant, charge and any leak detection system. A service record demonstrates what checks have taken place.
